Then the morning came when I opened my eyes and felt the finger of Fate upon me, I knew the time had come...
- Robert Penn Warren
At this moment, tens of thousands of Americans in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world are under arms and in peril, engaged in conflicts that serve only to prolong this terrible, endless age of war. At this moment, millions of innocent people are cowering somewhere because of it.
Make no mistake: someone is, at this moment, bathing in riches at the expense of those soldiers, their families, and the untold scores of civilians whose only crime was getting in the way of the first, best, and biggest payday of this new century. The last ten years have been a festival of profit-taking for a small collection of people you will never meet.

Not quite sure what to make of that one Pat, sadly, all conflicts have been good for somebody's pocket . . . but anyway buddy, keep your head down, be safe and be proud, no matter what others might have to bleat about it, regards and respect brother.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly a cold selfish world. . . Fuck em all!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the way it is and the way it always has been on our tiny blue speck...unfortunately. We, as a silly member of the universe, will probably NOT be the ones to leave this world and explore our surroundings, since we're so hung up on our own agendas; it's easier to manipulate others for short term, personal gain than it is to carry the entire population to success.
ReplyDeleteWe are no different than the dinosaurs, just another evolutionary dead end; a biology experiment gone wrong.
Makes you wanna go shoot a bunch of motherfuckers, don't it?!
